Information about pregnancy choices. At Birth Choice, our caring staff offers women facts about their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Clients are provided information and education about fetal development — how your baby grows during your pregnancy. Clients also learn about methods and risks of abortion and the abortion pill, as well as options for parenting and adoption. They are educated about sexually transmitted diseases and infections and how their decisions about sex will impact them for life.
Complete services for your reproductive health.Birth Choice provides many valuable services, including pregnancy tests, options counseling, post-abortion recovery counseling, medical, financial and legal referrals, housing options, adoption support and maternity and baby supplies. We also provide community outreaches regarding abstinence, STD and STI education. Our resources include literature and videos with the most current information available about abortion, pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. We serve women in the Oceanside, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Vista, San Marcos and Escondido communities in San Diego County, California. We serve teens, single and married people, high school students, college students, and people of all religious faiths.
Crisis pregnancy support and resources.Birth Choice provides confidential support to pregnant women seeking help with an unplanned or "crisis" pregnancy. We understand that not all pregnancies are planned, and you may be worried about parenthood. Our volunteers have much experience dealing with unplanned or "crisis" pregnancies, so they know the fears and anxieties of being pregnant at the "wrong" time. Our volunteers have been trained to be sensitive, compassionate, caring and non-judgmental. Clients are able to share how they feel and ask questions in a loving and nurturing environment.
Post-abortion recovery and counseling.Women who struggle with ambivalent feelings after their abortion — or who feel guilty and depressed over their choice — often feel that no one will listen to them, and they may not believe that anyone else understands what they are going through. Birth Choice understands and provides a safe place for them to talk about how they feel. Our program offers women hope and assurance that they can be forgiven, and, that with the help of God, they can overcome the negative, self-defeating and/or self-punishing behaviors and attitudes that have developed as a result of past abortions.
Birth Choice is a non-profit organization for women.Birth Choice is staffed entirely by volunteers. It is supported by private donations and receives no federal or state funds. It was founded in 1987 and is an independent pregnancy resource center. It is affiliated with Heartbeat International, the Associated for Life of San Diego County, and the San Diego Abstinence Coalition, CA.
